First purchases!

Ever since the gender of our baby was 70% confirmed, both of us were busy thinking of English and Chinese name respectively. Since I am Chinese illiterate, hubby has the privilege to think of the Chinese name, while I have to put on my thinking cap for an English one.

Not forgetting purchases for our dearest!! Whenever we visited baby store, hubby have to pull me away fr ooh and ahh over those cutesy girlish wear..how to resist!! So cute... We did manage to get a few items for baby over the weekend when we were at Mothercare @ Vivo and Harbourfront. There was a sale going on, hence can buy. After this purchase, I will be getting those plain cream colored or white colored shirt for baby - trying to reduce buying bodysuit as feel that initial phase, baby wil be more comfy in normal shirt.

Purchase by proud daddy!

Of course mommy will buy one for baby dearest!

Hubby is dreaming big that his baby boy will be playing in the Premiership Leageu till he got baby a soccer ball!! *Faint* Dreaming big... but hey, who knows, he could be a star in making - now that he is listening to Mozart!! Wahahaha...

Thanks to mummy Verne for buying baby's first bib - very cute! Will take a pix later.

Our Little Prince

On our 3rd gynae visit on Friday, Dr. Yvonne surprised us by saying that we should be able to determine the gender of our baby today!!! My heart skipped a beat.. a boy or a girl?

Tummy at 13 weeks

It was very difficult to get a clear ultrascan of our baby - baby was moving, stretching, doing acrobatic stunts, except to open the leg wide enough for us to see. Until.. the baby face front, squatting and there we thought we saw it.. a birdie!! Hahahaha... anyway, it is only 70% confirmed, will know for sure in another 4 weeks.. can't wait.

Baby scan @ 13 weeks. He's 7.7cm long now!

That is not only that, we realise that the baby's leg is extremely long - which means he will be very tall like daddy and mummy!!!

By knowing the gender, it will be so much easier to buy baby stuff now..will start buying next month. Uncle Jack has already bought him an England jersey complete with knee length socks during his last trip to England..very miniature and cute!

Entering 13th week

Being preggy is not all abt fun.. I get the constant headache especially ard evening time. It felt as if I have used up all my brain juice from 9am - 6.30pm..actually it is earlier than 9am because I need to crack my brain to think of what breakfast should I eat every morning! No easy task, u noe..

I will officially enter my 2nd trimester tomorrow - yeah!!!! No more tiredness (crossing fingers n toes)

According to the book I bought, this will be the most comfortable of the 3 trimesters..less quesy feeling and more energetic!! Which is what I needed now.. luckily hubby have his Euro 2008 to keep him busy while I sleep myself away.

I thought I felt the baby kicking me at times, but not sure if it is really baby movement or because my tummy is expanding. Just the other day on my way back from work, I felt my tummy became hard and I thought it will explode...hahaha

Nevertheless, I can't wait for Friday's visit to the gynae. Wondering if I will be able to find out the baby's gender by then. Once I know the gender, I can start my shopping spree and start thinking of baby's name..

Waiting eagerly..

First sign

23rd May 2008 - It was my 2nd visit to the gynae at TMC. As it was a Friday afternoon, hubby could not accompany me, so I went alone! Previously, I was very worried at how the baby is doing inside me. Am I doing the right thing? Did I eat right? Is the baby breathing? Is the baby moving?

All these questions and doubts were quickly erased when Dr. Soong did the scan. I can actually see our baby's head, hands and legs and boy, the baby is sure very active. Kept moving and at one point even wave at me! I had tears in my eyes, even now when I thought of it.. first sign of life..and I knew that I did the right thing.

Baby's head on the right and can see faint image of the hand and leg

After the checkup, I called hubby immediately to tell him how active his child is, even waved at me, and regret that he did not accompany me but he will make sure he attend the next visit.. I wanted both of us to share such joyous moment together. Nothing beats to witnessing it using your own eyes.

My tummy sure grew bigger day by day! It was so obvious especially during evening time. Here's one taken when I was at 11 weeks (I should be at 13 week now).

I can't wait for our next visit, 20th June 2008. We will know the result of the OSCAR and blood test.

What a Surprise!

22nd April 2008 - realised that my menses were late for about 2 weeks..coupled with me being very tired everyday even when I was exercising and attending training lesson few times a week.

Popped by Watson's and bought a self-test pregnancy kit, shows a faint twin blue line!

Part of me was ecstatic cos I could be pregnant but on the other hand, worried how hubby will react! All the questions came all the sudden, Can we have a baby? What abt his studies and work? Will we be stress? etc etc.. I told hubby, he is excited..hahaha, what a surprise!

I quickly arrange to meet a gynae on the night itself as I am experiencing spotting - worried it could due to me exercising and lifting heavy weights during gym session previously..

Dr. Watt from Raffles Woman confirm that I am indeed 5 weeks preggy and the spotting is all normal.. :)

I did not capture the 5-weeks scan - this is the 6th week scan

We decided to keep the baby (of course!!) and proceed with our customary wedding as per plan! Baby's EDD will be on 24th Dec 2008!! If baby decides to pop out 2 days later, it means we will be celebrating his 1 years old during our wedding dinner - what a double celebration it will be..

Mom and dad were happy of course..mom even went all the way out to buy various chinese herbs and top-grade bird's nest for me!! I love you mom...
